Normally on these family trips I have every day mapped out. This trip I had a much more vague idea of what we would do and as a result we ended up spending Sunday and Monday night at Twin Lakes campground. The attraction was we met up with old friends of Lenore from here Whitehorse days. They are avid campers and extremely nice people (4 kids with ages roughly compatible to Sam and Ben). To be honest, we didn’t do a whole heck of a lot here, but it was great to just hang around for a bit.
Now, I might be totally off-base here, but it seems to me that you can’t swing a dead cat in the YT without hitting a lake. They’re everywhere. And the YT government, bless them, has, I am guessing, WAY more campgrounds per capita than BC does. They’re everywhere, they’re totally well maintained, and Kerri (Lenore’s Whitehorse days friend) correctly stated that their outhouses are amazingly nice. They must get someone to sterilize and repaint them several times per year. I will skip the picture, though.
