Xel-Ha

Xel-Ha (pronounced “shell-ha”) is a park similar to XCaret and run by the same company. They are both great. Xel-ha is based around a large, shallow lagoon and it so happens it’s where we decided to do Swim With The Dolphins. This activity was so expensive that I couldn’t bear to pay for myself but the kids and Lenore did it.

This was from the Benjamin day but I forgot to put the image in. Look at the color of that water!

We also all went Snuba-ing (not as good as at XCaret) and down an (outside) river float, which was fun at first but VERY slow at the end (not enough current).

  1. okay,

so now that i have perused your trip to Mexico I am left with the thought that maybe, someday, we should code name one of our trips something like, AC10 (arctic circle), but instead head somewhere warm, with all you can eat lunch buffets, and orange sunsets and drinks with umbrellas we don’t have to consume in the parking lot. To cover our ass we’ll find some losers flickrstream of a trip to the arctic, throw in the odd photoshop job of one of us giving the middle finger salute, and hope the ruse works. Alternatively we could just take pictures in all you can eat buffetland and nod solemnly when we explain how really fucked up the north is because of climate change.
