Sault Ste Marie

We’re in Sault Ste Marie today. SSM is at the Eastern tip of Lake Superior, and straddles the US border – there are actually 2 SSM’s, a US one and a Canadian one. This is our last stop in Ontario. I am not looking forward to the hassle (tomorrow) of getting thru the border with 200 tons of RV.

We left Manitoulin yesterday in great weather at about 11 PM and somehow didn’t get to SSM until after 5:00, even though it’s less than 300 KM. The only stop we made was in Espanola for Subway and groceries. I’m not sure where the rest of the time went.

We all more or less agree that the nicest campgrounds so far have been either Batman’s on Manitoulin, or Summer House on Bruce Peninsula. The SSM KOA here is nice for a KOA, but there is no lake, and the pool is absolutely FREEZING. Also the weather turned terrible as we arrived, but it’s nice now (Saturday morning) and we have a day of SSM activities ahead of us.
